The MarketMy 100th post and it’s about one of my favourite places I’ve visited so far this year food-wise. Welcome to Foodhallen Amsterdam, with over twenty restaurants and loads of bars - this place is a foodie’s dream come true. We visited on a Friday night and things were legitimately lit. Not only that, it’s super hip being in an old converted tram depot. If I lived in Amsterdam I’d spend my weekend in this place getting drunk and eating some unreal munch.

De BallenBar
This is the De BallenBar stand in Foodhallen. The stall was set up by Michelin Star Chef Peter Gast who is head chef at Schulten Hues. All the bitterballen are made fresh on site and are super tasty. Go go go!
Here we have an assortment of bitterballen, which are a famous Dutch snack that are like a meaty gravy ball. The only thing I can compare them to are a croquette, but much gooyer in the middle. At Foodhallen they can be found at De Ballenbar where they offer many different flavours such as truffle, beef and goats cheese. I’ll post a photo of the stand next so you can familiarise yourself with the place!
Dim Sum Thing
Here’s where you can get that Dim SumBlessTing.
These are from Dim Sum Thing and they were most definitely a Dim Sum Bless Ting as these steamed and fried dumplings were heavenly. I think the best thing about Foodhallen in general is nothing is super expensive with everything being around the €5-€10 mark. However, if you’re feeling especially hungry you might have to think tactically! What helps with this is the fact that many of stalls display an example of their food on the counter. So let your eyes do the talking.
