Hutspot is a classic Dutch dish, which features meat served with a carrot, potato and onion mash. On a cold day in Amsterdam this is exactly what you need. Despite the restaurant being large and packed full of tourists the food was actually really good. I would recommend going here just to try some of the nations most famous dishes. However, don’t expect this to be a relaxed dining experience - take it with a pinch of salt.

Haesje Claes is a traditional restaurant in Amsterdam that serves up some classic Dutch cuisine. However, I was a bit upset at how much of a tourist attraction this place has become. As we were sat down ready to tuck into our food an army of people mobbed through the door. No joke, literally 100 people got off a coach and were taken through to a separate room! The place is absolutely massive, which I didn’t expect either.
